Santa wear your shorts

Gemma sang "Santa wear your shorts" at the school Christmas concert this week. Very well received by the audience. We've been having recreation of the routine all week at home with Gemma the director teaching us the moves. She's a hard taskmaster, every little movement has to be correct, even down to the degree of bum wiggle and finger position.

Another award

Fraser has come second in a competition to design a safety poster for the gas company.
It's all awards at the moment!
His poster highlights the hazards of using your mobile phone whilst driving. Luckily, this accident did not result in an enormous fireball... but, it COULD HAVE DONE.

Fraser wins an award.

FRASER WON AN AWARD last night at the NCCA (National Children's Choir of Australia) concert. We were all surprised and delighted. The award is given to the best choristers in the choir, one from each rehearsal centre.
We have cleared a shelf to display it (see left). Fraser's first actual trophy. We are all really proud of him.

The concert was great as always, the first song was in the dark and the choristers waved torches, very effective, it was called 'Turn the lights on!' ,I think. Fraser's group also sang, 'You Raise me up', 'Tears in Heaven', 'May it be', from the 'Lord of the Rings', "I will magnify thee, oh Lord' 'Tarah Orah', and 'Moreton Bay', quite a mixed bag of songs.

An award winning chorister said, "The best thing about being in this choir is the wide range and large number of songs we sing."

Having fun in the garden.

This is our grevillia, Judith Ann- looking beautiful at the moment. Below is the protea. Note the new bird table.

Fraser and Gemma go wild on the trampoline- still popular after all this time.

Fraser's 9th birthday

Fraser's party, ON THE ACTUAL DAY! As you can see there was a green theme. Strangely, most of the guests turned up in green tops. How bizarre. Of course we had lots of fun, sardines, hit each other with balloons, birthday cake and plenty of lollies.

Holiday in the sun

Hello everyone, yes, we have been rather slow at posting lately.... Here are some shots from our recent trip to Cairns with the OS visitors.
The girls check out the map at the railway station on the way to Kuranda. No, it wasn't raining.

A fish that we saw in the reef off Frankland Island.

Fraser checks out a rockpool on Frankland Island.

Fraser's Concert

Fraser recently had a concert at the Police Academy Chapel. Yes the very one where Tich and Dette got married all those years ago.

There was a mix of style from pop to classical, although the most popular was the Beatles medley, with some funky choreo.

Our trees have started to flower and we're getting some visitors

Back at Last

No, we haven't disappeared off the face of the earth but our trees have.

A large branch fell of one of the gums in the back yard so we had the tree men in to inspect and remove the trees. We've made some new beds from the mulch and will plant some new trees soon. It's a shame to remove trees but better that than have a 150mm dia branch land on your head as nearly happened
